Entry 4 - The Angels are coming.

Uh. Hello Universe,

It's me again. We have a problem. The secure connection I've had with the Remnant Alliance has gone dark. And unfortunately the last transmission I received did not sound good. I know I promised a full detailing of Magic's inner workings, and it is still coming, but right now we have an emergency.

I'm sure you've heard of Angels. They are generally universally portrayed as the servants of whatever deity your culture produced to satisfy the need for guidance in this chaos-filled universe. But they are actually the remnants of ancient life. Each Angel contains around 4 billion elves-worth of Magic. Their sole goal in life? Consume, consume consume. All they do is travel around the universe absorbing the life force of whatever living being they come across.

The former Galactic Alliance managed to keep them at bay with strategically placed garden worlds like Earth along the borders of our galaxy. Each garden world contained millions of Magical creatures capable of channeling mana. But wait! You're wondering how only millions of magical creatures could repel an Angel, when an Angel itself possessed the power of billions. That, my friends, is where Earth's Hyper Core came into play.

You see, Earth has always been an advanced civilization. We built the Hyper Core during the War of Heaven and Hell to turn the tide on God and his Angelic Knights. It worked for a time, we managed to channel massive amounts of mana to our Advanced Vanguard Team, who quickly pushed the Angels back. But it was wildly inefficient. So the Galactic Alliance decided to try a more defensive approach, setting up outposts on what would eventually become our garden planets. While the AVT continued to push deeper into Angelic homespace, the Galactic Alliance swiftly developed and seeded the garden planets with as many magical beings as possible, along with projectors and amplifiers for our Hyper Core. Once our perimeter was secured, we recalled the AVT and activated the Hyper Core Network, effectively ending the war, and starving the Angels till the end of time.

Or so we thought.

Unfortunately, when the human uprising began in quadrant 45, a number of garden planets on that front were destroyed. Now this caused a huge problem. The rest of the garden planets were swiftly overloaded by the overwhelming surge in mana energy, and we lost many comrades, families, and friends. The Galactic Alliance was forced back into the war with Angels once more, except this time, the pesky humans had turned against us. At least 20% of our forces were made up of human soldiers. Now that they had turned on us, we had a significant disadvantage, and we lost the war. We lost everything. The humans grabbed all the worlds, all the tech, all the power they could and lived in bliss for, all of 3 seconds, until they realized they had a major problem. The Angels were still hungry. The Angels were coming for them now.

The humans are now desperately hunting for the Hyper Core, hoping to use it to both wipe out the remaining Remnant Alliance, as well as repel the Angels. What they don't realize is that it takes a Magical being to wield the Hyper Core effectively. The humans would simply be throwing energy at the Angels, making them stronger.

So where are we now. We are in quite the situation. Ayila has been listening for any chatter from the ruined garden planets, but so far, we've heard nothing. We need more of us, more mana channelers, to effectively use the Hyper Core. At most, we have 4000 individual mana channelers hiding in the Life Ark. There is no way, with just 4000 channelers, we could operate the Hyper Core at 100% efficiency. At most, we would draw maybe 2-3% of the Hyper Core's actual power. That's not nearly enough to stop the Angels.

We must keep looking. We can't give up now. But its starting to look rather bleak...

Until next time my friends,

Entry 3 - We've escaped! Kinda...

What's up Universe!

Lux here!

So we're free! Well, relatively free. We've managed to teleport our Life Ark to the dark side of the moon, giving us just a bit more time to figure out how to navigate the deadly waters that is Human Galactic 'airspace' (space-space just sounds weird). Somehow we need to make our way across the Milky Way and into the safety of Remnant Space, the far outskirts of the Human Galactic Empire. That's a daunting 3500 year journey, but I think we are up to the task! We just need to retrofit our Life Ark with cloaking and jamming technologies. Unfortunately, all of our advanced tech was either confiscated by the humans when they took over Earth, or destroyed. Guess we'll have to go a-raiding!

Alvia has been doing a lot better. I've let her roam around Antarctica for a bit, and she's been having a lot of fun with the penguins. Her dark energy seems to have calmed down for the time being.

Ayila on the other hand, has been busily configuring the Life Ark for combat capabilities. She's grown up so fast, its almost scary. It seems her abilities have been developing very quickly too. She's learned how to control almost every element in just under 3 months, and she's working her Master's Project at just age 14. It's mind blowing. I think her affinity leans towards Time, Matter, and Light magic. She has gotten very good at controlling metabolism and chemical reactions. For her first Master's, I've decided she will learn the Nuclear Arts under the Matter Tree. Only 7 Elves in our entire history have managed to open the Nuclear Sphere successfully. I'm hoping Ayila will be the 8th.

Maybe I should do a breakdown of how Elven Magic works. I'm sure some of you are interested right? Alright, next blog post will be a nice, long description of how Magic works. It is quite the fascinating subject, in fact, I think I'll have Ayila write it. It would be a very nice supplement to her Master's Project.

Anyways, Alvia is calling me. She probably wants to come home now, it's quite cold down in Antarctica.

Until next time my friends,

Lux Tenebris

Entry 2 - The Life Ark

What's up universe!

Another day here on Earth, and things are NOT looking good. Alvia has been having a very hard time controlling her rage. I've been taking here through very advanced meditation exercises, and she's just not having it. Her aura is definitely changing, I'm going to have to keep a very careful eye on her.

The humans have begun terraforming the world. They are slowly but surely homogenizing Earth's lush nature to suit their aesthetic tastes. Ayila is absolutely devastated, she was a real animal and nature lover. Every tree that falls, every species that disappears burns another hole in her poor little heart. The humans have taken away everything except blue, brown, green and yellow it seems. We did manage to preserve around 75% of Earth's natural species before the humans began their terraforming shenanigans, but only as singular, crystalized fossils. They are stored in our Life Ark for revival at a safer time.

As for magical beings, it seems us three in this bunker are all that survived the virus those nasty humans unleashed on Earth. It quickly targeted all life forms with a magical presence and quickly decimated our population. By the time I had finished the vaccine, everyone had already died.

I've been trying so hard to figure out our next move, because the humans are still coming for us. They have developed a radar for magical presence and have begun sweeping Earth for leftovers. It is only a matter of time.

The Galactic Alliance is in utter shambles, the few resistances that remain are all in the same boat: struggling to survive. We've decided to meet on the distant XXX system and start anew as best we can. I already hear there's a GA colony there, started by General Purgaj'mali himself. Hopefully they'll be able to send us help soon.

Anyway, Ayila has found an interesting tome on mass teleportation. She thinks the answer to our problem is in there, I have my doubts though. She's such a sweet, intelligent young Elf. I really hope we get out of this alive and with dignity.

Until next time,

Entry 1 - The End

What's up universe!
Lux here. And man, what a day it's been. I woke up this morning thinking it was going to be another jolly good ole day: watering the garden with mother, meditating in the waterfall pool with Master Vu'mar, relaxing in Hammock Central with Alvia and Ayila. You know, normal stuff. Turns out, today was not a jolly good ole day. Today, we were invaded. By the violent race of humans.

Right, so I bet a lot of you are wondering, wait a second, who are you? Well, I am an elf/fairy. I know what you're thinking, aren't they two different species? Wait do they actually exist? Why yes, they do exist, and yes they are two different species. I am the result of an elven-fairy love story. Beautiful story, maybe I'll tell you sometime.

Oh, right, context. I bet you're wondering when this is being written, assuming this memory drive is found by a species with the technology to read it.

The elves have lived on Earth since the beginning of time, or so we are told. We've lived through the age of Dinosaurs, we survived the meteor that wiped them out, we manufactured the Ice Age in an attempt to double the amount of sunlight we could harness. We were a great civilization, certainly not without our flaws, but harmonious, peaceful, and absolutely fun!

Now I was born about 200 years after the Ice Age, by which point, my people had thawed the Earth, and constructed the Hyper Core, an overpowered magic amplification device used for many utilities, but most importantly, to protect the galaxy from Angels. But I'll get to that

About 20 years after I was born, we received word from traders of the Galactic Alliance that the Humanoid Collective had declared war. We tried to stay out of it, hoping to preserve our harmonious relationship with Earth and peace.

But...

The humans arrived. They had won the war. Now their eyes were set on the legendary Earth, the origin  of all magical beings who could manipulate matter with their very life force, and the home to the Hyper Core. We were a threat, so the humanoid army came to finish us off.

They waged a terrifying war. We lost billions of magical beings. My friends, my family, my home. They came in droves, trillions of starship cruisers, assaulting our world until every last one of us was dead. In the last week of battle, our High Council decided to hide away 200 Elven Guardians, tasked with protecting the Hyper Core. For if the humans got it, all life would cease, in their reckless lust for war and power.

Unfortunately, the humans were resourceful, very resourceful. They tracked the magic signatures of all our Elven Guardians, and in the final battle of Pangaea, all was lost. I and my two apprentices are the last of the Elven race. Our only task, to protect the Hyper Core's power, and ensure the safety of the surviving species out in the universe.

So yeah. Now, here I am, sitting in a old maritime bunker from the age of the Dinosaurs, really not sure what to do. I've made contact with the remnants of the Galactic Union. Their leadership unit agrees that the Hyper Core cannot fall into the hands of the human warriors. I must find a way to get it off world.

Alvia and Ayila are with me though, both completely devastated emotionally by the loss of our home, the loss of our family, the loss of everything. Somehow, I must bring them back, Alvia especially. I'm worried she will turn to darkness, and seek revenge. Dark Elves are very dangerous. Once turned, it is very hard to reverse their flow of magic back to the Light.

Anyways, Ayila is asking for help with her training homework.

Until next time my friends across the universe,
